Membership Purchase
Memberships must be purchased from Odyssey of the Mind prior to registering teams for a tournament. Membership purchase gives schools and community groups access to the long term problems. There are many options include in person and virtual. Find the one that suites your team best!
Team Registration
Register teams for the state tournament at the Odyssey of the Mind members area. The membership number and the membership's zip code are needed to log on. The registration date determines the team fee. Please register your teams prior to making payment.
Required information for registration:
- The coach, name, address, phone and email
- For additional coaches, the name is required and contact information is optional
- The school name and address
- The contact name, phone, and email
- The name and grade for each team member
Judge Requirement
Each team is required to provide a judge. Qualified judges are at least 18 years of age, attend a training and are available to judge all day at the tournament. Coaches or membership coordinators are responsible for recruiting judges, assuring that they are signed up accurately and checking to make sure that their team(s) are covered by the deadline. If a team does not provide a judge, if their judge does not satisfy the training requirement, or if their judge is a no-show at the state tournament, the team will be assessed a 25 point spirit of the problem penalty. The due date for judges is January 31st. (Link to register judge)
Send your membership number to your judges and direct them to the volunteer's corner on this web site to register. They need to check 'Yes' to the question 'Are you representing a team? and enter your membership number to be credited to your membership. To credit themselves to one of your teams, they will also need the problem and division of that team. If they don't have the membership number or name, at least have them enter the name of your school or organization in place of the membership name when registering.
Membership contacts and coaches can review their list of registered judges by logging into the Odyssey of the Mind members area and clicking the "Judge/Volunteer List" link. Teams can be credited for judges who are assigned to a long term problem, the primary problem, spontaneous, or the score room.
Most judges will need to attend one of the training sessions and will not be able to take time off from their duties to watch a team perform. Judges trainings will be provided through email correspondence, virtually or on day of the event.
